I have worn the chest rig enough on urban hikes and bike rides to provide a review… I own several different brands of chest rigs, to include Hill People Gear and FHF Gear. The TrailGuard chest rig is the best match for those uses.
Pack seems well built. I wore it, with my pistol in it, while sawing brush for a few hours. Very comfortable. The ‘rip cord’ system works well. I can draw my pistol faster from this chest pack than from a hip holster.

Carry on the bike, in the tree stand, or on a trail run without a belt holster in the way. The TrailGuard reads as a binocular harness, so nothing about it signals that you're armed.
Your handgun rides in a dedicated rear compartment, separated from your phone, wallet, and gear. Quick pull tabs open it in one motion, and the adjustable holster insert keeps the firearm in the same position every time you reach for it.

Can I run with the TrailGuard?
Yes. The harness uses thin straps and a padded mesh back panel, which keeps bounce down and airflow up. It sits high on the chest, so it doesn't shift into your stride the way a belt holster or fanny pack does. The adjustable holster insert matters more here than anywhere else: it keeps the firearm from moving inside the compartment while you're moving. Cinch the straps snug before you head out. Loose straps are what cause bounce, not the pack itself.
Will it fit my handgun?
The rear compartment fits up to a full-size handgun, but a compact is the better fit. Full-size pistols go in and the pack closes, though the compartment is tight.
Can I wear it under a backpack?
Yes, that's part of why the harness is built the way it is. The straps are thin enough to sit under pack straps without stacking up or creating pressure points, and the low-profile front doesn't push out far enough to interfere with a sternum strap. Route the TrailGuard straps under your backpack straps, not over, so you can shed the backpack without disturbing the chest pouch.
