    I have been using this type heavy Nylon magazine pouch from Elite Survival Systems (and previously Assault Systems) for more than three decades, beginning during my career as a Federal Criminal Investigator. I've tried several different makes, but I haven't found any that I've considered better made, or that liked better.

    I purchased this MMSP, described for "large caliber single column magazines," for a .45ACP M1911A1. The standard 7 and 8 flat bottom single-stack magazine fits like it was made for it, and probably was, but keep in mind that magazines with bottom bumpers do not fit well lengthwise, or they may not at all.

    This magazine pouch will barely hold 9mm magazines, let alone 40 S& W. I will not recommend it.

    ammo clips fit well and the whole pouch slides onto an under arm shoulder holster for carrying extra ammo. Case is rugged.
